DEFINITIONSGRANT - non-repayable funds or products disbursed or given by one party (grant makers) to a recipient; requires a submission process
COMMISSION - the act of requesting the creation of a piece, often on behalf of another; often resemble endorsement or sponsorship
SCHOLARSHIP - an award of financial aid for a student to further one's education
STIPEND - Regular fixed sum of money paid for services or to defray expenses.

The Prince George’s Arts and Humanities Council administers grants on a yearly basis in the following categories: County Arts, Arts in Education, and Artist Fellowship.

A Blade of Grass (2021)
The Fellowship is designed to support artists that are using great art to enact a social change in the world. When reviewing proposals, we look at artistic value, a plan to enact social change, and the quality of the artist’s engagement practice. For POC Emerging Fellows we will also consider the applicant’s financial need based upon applicant’s explanation of annual income and expenses.

Franklin Furnace Fund (2021)
The Franklin Furnace Fund awards grants annually to early career artists to enable them to
produce major performance art works in New York.
