Cristina "Macho" Camacho
CHOREOGRAPHER | PRODUCER | ARTS ADVOCATE
Cristina Camacho (aka Macho) is a professional dancer and choreographer based between LA & NY, originally hailing from the DMV (DC, Maryland, Virginia). A graduate of the University of Maryland College Park (B.A. Dance / B.S. Kinesiology), she relocated to New York in 2018, where performed professionally in the commercial dance & entertainment industry (MTV VMA's, Telemundo Upfronts, The Soul Spot by Candace Brown, The CW, BET).
She has traveled internationally as a choreographer and dance educator, presenting her own work fusing street-styles and modern/contemporary dance. Cristina has led workshops along the East Coast, in Canada, and Barcelona, and presented work at PACE University with DanceLab NY, Steps on Broadway, Olney Theater, Roundhouse Theater, the Peabody Dance Festival, Mobile Dance Film Festival, and more. She is interested in how boundaries can be broken between the concert and commercial dance industries and is using her artistry and arts administrative experience to explore that relationship. When she is not dancing, Cristina lends her skills to Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts in a Communications role. Her work is focused in public relations, community building, and content creation; using her eye for movement, art, and film to produce and creatively direct promotional material across various social channels. She is currently based in Los Angeles, CA. |
