Cristina "Macho" Camacho

Cristina Camacho's (Macho) professional journey began at the University of Maryland, College Park, where she attained a Bachelor's degree in Dance and Kinesiology. While studying dance, Macho was cast in numerous faculty and student productions, and had the honor of being awarded the full tuition Creative and Performing Arts Scholarship. When she wasn't in department rehearsals, she could be found directing Dynamic Dance Team, performing internationally with Culture Shock DC, or empowering young women with her Kick Rocks Crew sisters.
After completing Luam Keflezgy's Rock The Industry intensive, Cristina relocated to New York in 2018 and continues to train with some of the artists that inspired her to pursue dance. Since moving to NY, she's been in productions by Luis Salgado, Eden Shabatai, Candace Brown, Neil Schwartz, and Ashle Dawson. Notable performance credits include the 2019 MTV VMA's with recording artist Ava Max, Telemundo Upfronts, The Soul Spot by Candace Brown, The CW, BET, and more. She has traveled nationally and internationally as a choreographer and dance educator, including a summer in Barcelona, where she completed an internship exploring the importance of cultural dance exchange. When she is not dancing, Cristina is working as an arts administration professional, lending her skills to the likes of Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, and as an advisor to numerous dance education programs. |
